Our shop is not open yet because we have a rule: we do not publish a single product fact we have not verified on real bodies. Fabric feel, sizing, how a waistband behaves in an invert, none of it goes on a product page as a guess. Until wear tests and samples confirm what we want to claim, the shop stays behind a launching-soon page. This post is the honest version of why.
What is actually left to do?
Less than you might think, and more than we will rush:
- Wear testing. Our shorts need real hours on real poles before we describe how they perform. A product page that says a waistband stays put during inversions should mean someone inverted in it, repeatedly, and it did.
- Sizing truth. We are collecting sizing data from real pole dancers first, through our fit survey, so that our size chart describes dancers' actual measurements rather than a factory's default table. We have already rebuilt parts of that survey after early feedback showed a question was confusing people, because bad questions produce bad size charts.
- The unglamorous paperwork. Store policies, returns, and the legal words underneath them, done properly rather than pasted from a template.
Why not just launch and fix it later?
Because in polewear, a wrong product claim is not a minor annoyance. A dancer who buys shorts based on our word takes them into a class where grip and fit are safety issues, not preferences. If we say a short stays in place through a leg hang, someone will trust that sentence with their skin on a chrome pole. That sentence has to be earned.
There is also a simpler reason: we are dancers selling to dancers, and this community is small. A brand gets one first impression here. We would rather arrive later with claims we can stand behind than early with adjectives.
What can you do while we finish?
Two things, genuinely useful to us:
- Read along. This journal is where we publish what we learn on the way, from grip science to studio culture, and it will be where we announce the opening.
- Tell us about your fit. If you pole, our sizing survey is how your measurements shape the size chart everyone gets. It is the single most helpful five minutes you can give a small polewear brand right now.

Why should a clothing brand test at all? Because polewear is functional gear. Fit and grip behavior are safety-adjacent claims, and we think guessing at them in public is unfair to the people trusting us.
